Landing gear strength is not only an achievement by itself, as the main quality of our design is the amazing suspension capability, which derives again in comfort, durability and safety. Gear legs and front fork can be easily be removed for transport.
FUNCTIONALITY
KiloDUO offers plenty of functional details, conceived by pilots for pilots. Changing the hang point position can be done in few seconds from the seat itself, with no tools, and even if wearing winter gloves. 12V cigarette lighter sockets are also standard, for plugging in your favorite accessories, as our upper engine control panel with take-off assist mirror! COMFORT
The tandem seating layout offers great comfort for pilot and passenger. As there are no vertical structural webbings or tubes in the cockpit area, entering the trike is fast and easy, and visibility is unsurpassed. Pilot seats in the back, while passenger in front. Great for schooling and inspiring confidence to your passenger.
SAFETY
The trike is a high hang point design, with two upper tubes that serve also as rollover passenger protection. The one-piece TIG welded stainless steel airframe, offers the industry highest passenger crash protection. Both passengers have 3 points automotive certified safety belts.

The airframe and all its components went through several real strength test in order to guarantee the compliance with the most demanding airworthiness requirements.

The Kilo DUO is a our tandem trike for leisure flights and schooling. Conceived as a 1+1, it turns out to offer more comfort to pilot and passenger that many average tandem trikes in the market, thanks to its well studied and padded fiberglass tandem seating configuration. The pilot seats in the back, from where in fact the trike can be flown solo, exactly as easily and comfortably as it would be a real one seater trike. The Kilo DUO has been designed to last forever, just like any other KobraPPG product. Completely CAD designed and calculated, manufactured in stainless steel and 7075T6 alloy, with full suspension, features dual controls, 4 points seat belts, 14 or 28 liters fuel tank, and a wide range of engines to choose, from the light Simonini Mini 3, the Victor 1 SUPER, or to the two cylinder Rotax 503 (actually discontinued but still available in some units), Hirth, HKS700E. A custom engine is being developed by us on the base of a four stroke liquid cooled engine, which will be released soon as a silent and fuel efficient option.
The Kilo DUO trike in the basic version equipped with the Simonini Mini 3 engine boosting 36hp at a very low weight, weights only 81kg empty, including the upgraded quality wheels with metal rims. This is a record for such a strong and comfortable trike. The main body of the trike, where pilot and passenger take seat, is fully TIG welded in 1 piece, while the 2 piece 360 degrees propeller protection cage, can be easily removed for storage or transportation. Also the main landing gear can easily come apart by unscrewing a bolt on each side. Also the front fork, if necessary, can be removed in just few minutes. The construction of the frame, done mainly in welded tubes, means that the trike requires a very low maintenance level, and being polished instead of painted, allows also for an easy and fast check of its conditions over the time.
The high hang point design, allows for a great ease of access and superb side visibility from the Kilo DUO trike. Also, even more important, it is definitely the right hang point solution for trikes, as it offers unsurpassed stability, easy of flight and overall ease of operations. And also, the highest passive safety level in case of crash.
Schooling on the Kilo DUO trike is an easy job, as instructor and student are close one to the other, and the instructor can follow with his hands the control of the wing brakes done directly by the student. Also wheel direction control is splitted for safe take offs and landings. Engine control can also be added for the student under request.
Professional passenger flights have never been so easy, as the pilot can in fact remain seated after each landing, and let the passenger easily go down and then access and get seated on the trike, in a very intuitive and uncomplicated way, in comparison with "hang down seats" trike designs.
Time between flights can this way be optimized, and passenger will feel at confidence, safe and protected in the comfort seat and inside the visible and assuring steel structure.
Among the several options offered, we highly recommend the installation of a safety pneumatic rescue system, the Parachutter, for an increased safety level of the vehicle. Also, we recommend to fly this trike with our new tandem trike wing the TWIX, purpose manufactured by ITV for motorized trikes. Its safety, easy of use, performance, pleasant and intuitive piloting, make it really the ideal choice for this and other tandem trikes. Load tested and certified at 400kg / 6G, offers no compromise in its quality and durable construction.
We have conceived the Kilo DUO as an affordable product in its basic version with the Mini 3 engine, which offers fair performance for occasional tandem flights. However we recommend higher horse power engines if the trike is going to be used mainly in school or professional activities.
The Bigfoot version of the Kilo DUO, with 21" low pressure tires, ideal for operations from the beach or the desert, works also better with some more hp on the back, as the Victor 1 SUPER or any twin cylinder engines from the ones offered.
